Garmin is introducing its inaugural public beta software update, version 12.58, for the Forerunner 970 and Forerunner 570 smartwatches. Furthermore, athletes can now view timing gate auto laps aggregated by 5 km on Garmin Connect, offering a clearer perspective on their race performance. For strength training enthusiasts, an automatic rest timer in strength activities is now supported, streamlining workout flow and ensuring proper recovery intervals.

A notable addition is a gentle, early alarm, which can wake users up to 30 minutes before their set time based on sleep quality, promoting a more natural awakening. Minor issues with the evening report, watch face display glitches, full-screen notification dismissals, timing gate loading, and CIQ data field saving have all been resolved, along with various other minor issues and updated translations.
