Garmin Instinct 3 Gets New Stable Software Update Version 13.27

Garmin isn’t slowing down. Just a few days after the debut of version 13.26, the company has already greenlit a new stable software rollout: Version 13.27. This quick-turnaround update is specifically designed to refine the user experience for the latest generation of rugged wearables, ensuring the hardware runs as smoothly as intended.

Compatible Devices and Performance Tweaks

The firmware is currently landing on Garmin’s heavy hitters in the adventure category. Owners of the Instinct 3 Solar, the vibrant Instinct 3 AMOLED, and the hybrid Crossover AMOLED are the primary recipients of this patch. While the previous update focused on broader system stability, this iteration targets specific behavioral glitches to keep your data tracking accurate.

Key Enhancements and Bug Fixes

The 13.27 changelog may be concise, but it addresses two areas vital for power users:

  • Goal Alert Reliability: A bug that occasionally prevented Goal Alerts from appearing on-screen has been squashed. Whether you’re hitting step counts or floors climbed, your milestones will now trigger the proper notifications.

  • Gear Tracking Optimization: Garmin has applied miscellaneous fixes to Gear Tracking. This improves how the watch logs the mileage and wear-and-tear on your equipment, such as running shoes or cycling tires.

How to Install the Update Manually

While Garmin often pushes these updates over-the-air (OTA) via the Connect app, you can jump the line by manually triggering the download directly from your wrist.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open the Main Menu.

  2. Scroll to Settings.

  3. Select System.

  4. Tap Software Update.

  5. Choose Check For Updates to begin the installation.
