Garmin Launches Beta Update 26.09 for Fenix 7, Epix 2, and Marq Gen 2 Watches

Garmin has officially initiated the rollout of Beta Version 26.09, a fresh software refinement targeting its premium lineup of outdoor and performance smartwatches. This latest iteration is specifically designed for the Fenix 7, Epix Gen 2, Enduro 2, Quatix 7, and the Marq Gen 2 series. While this update focuses on stability rather than introducing flashy new features, it addresses several critical bugs reported by the community to ensure a smoother user experience.

Critical Bug Fixes and System Stability

The primary focus of this build is on “quality of life” improvements and backend stability. One of the most notable fixes involves the Power Manager app, where users previously noticed inconsistent text data between their wearable device and the Garmin Connect mobile platform. This patch synchronizes those data points for better accuracy. Additionally, Garmin has resolved a high-priority bug within the Garmin Coach app that caused certain devices to suffer from unexpected shutdowns during training sessions.

Improved Widget Navigation

For adventurers who rely on satellite communication, this update brings a necessary fix to the InReach Widget. Previously, some users encountered navigation glitches when trying to use physical buttons to scroll through the interface. Version 26.09 restores fluid button responsiveness, ensuring that communication tools remain reliable when you’re off the grid.

How to Install the 26.09 Beta Update

If you are enrolled in the Garmin Beta Program, you can pull the update manually without waiting for the staggered OTA (over-the-air) delivery. To update your device immediately, follow these steps:

  • Hold the Menu button on your watch.

  • Scroll down and select System.

  • Choose Software Update.

  • Select Check For Updates to trigger the download.

Once the download is complete, the watch will prompt you to install and restart to finalize the system improvements.
