Garmin Launches New Instinct 3 Alpine Rush Collection Limited Editions

Garmin is expanding its rugged wearable lineup with the introduction of the Instinct 3 Alpine Rush Collection. This limited-edition series brings a fresh aesthetic to the Instinct 3 family, which originally debuted in January 2025. By blending high-performance hardware with bold new colorways, Garmin is targeting outdoor enthusiasts who want a device that stands out as much as it performs.

A Fresh Palette for the Great Outdoors

The Alpine Rush Collection consists of four distinct models, each defined by unique color schemes tailored to different sizes and display technologies. For those who prefer the classic Instinct silhouette, Garmin has introduced a striking Sunburst orange casing paired with a Sunburst/Gray strap. This vibrant look is available for both the 45 mm and 50 mm Solar variants.

Users opting for the modern AMOLED display have two exclusive choices. The 45 mm AMOLED model arrives in a bright Citrine yellow, while the larger 50 mm AMOLED version sports a deep Fern Green. These colors offer a departure from the standard tactical tones usually found in the Instinct series, providing a more expressive look for the wrist.

Durable Architecture and Core Features

While the exteriors have been refreshed, the internal technology remains as robust as the original Instinct 3. Every watch in the collection is built to withstand harsh environments, featuring a metal-reinforced bezel for superior impact resistance.

The hardware suite includes several high-utility tools:

  • Integrated LED Flashlight: A built-in light source for navigation in the dark.

  • Multi-Band GPS: Enhanced positioning accuracy for remote trail tracking.

  • Health & Connectivity: Comprehensive health monitoring, smart notifications, and Garmin Pay for contactless transactions.

Solar vs. AMOLED: Performance and Endurance

One of the primary choices for buyers is between the two display types, which significantly impact battery performance. The AMOLED models provide a high-resolution, vibrant screen with a battery life of roughly 24 days under standard use.

In contrast, the Solar models utilize Memory-in-Pixel (MIP) technology. These versions are designed for true off-grid living; when exposed to sufficient sunlight, the integrated solar cells can provide unlimited battery life, making them the ultimate tool for long-term expeditions.

Availability and Pricing Details

The Alpine Rush Collection is scheduled to launch on March 20th via Garmin’s official webstore. Despite being a limited-edition release, Garmin has kept the pricing consistent with the standard Instinct 3 models.

The pricing structure for the collection is as follows:

  • 45 mm Solar (Sunburst): $399.99 / £299.99 / €349.99

  • 45 mm AMOLED (Citrine): $449.99 / £349.99 / €399.99

  • 50 mm Solar (Sunburst): $449.99 / £349.99 / €399.99

  • 50 mm AMOLED (Fern Green): $499.99 / £399.99 / €449.99

While the watches will initially be available through Garmin’s direct channels, there is currently no word on when or if these specific limited-edition colors will appear on third-party platforms like Amazon.
