Garmin has released a new beta software update, version 15.27, targeting a selection of its high-performance smartwatches. This update focuses on resolving several key bugs and enhancing the overall user experience for owners of the Fenix 8, Fenix E, Enduro 3, and Tactix 8.
Note: The Beta software available for the Fenix 8 series will have the ECG feature as well as the Dive and Aviation features disabled.
Stability Improvements Targeting Specific Features
A significant portion of this beta update is dedicated to improving the stability of the devices when utilizing specific features. Garmin has addressed a crash that could occur after users enable the Live Event Share functionality, ensuring a smoother experience when sharing their activities in real-time. Additionally, the update resolves a frustrating crash that some users encountered when attempting to select a recent course from the saved app, streamlining navigation and activity selection.
Enhancements for Health and Fitness Tracking
The update also includes fixes for issues related to health and fitness tracking. Users who utilize the Women’s Health app will be pleased to know that a crash associated with this feature has been resolved. Furthermore, the accuracy of workout summaries has been improved, with a fix implemented for an issue that caused an incorrect number of rounds to be displayed after a HIIT workout. Another notable improvement addresses a recurring Lactate Threshold prompt that was incorrectly appearing after every run, ensuring a less disruptive training experience.
User Interface and Essential Functionality Refinements
Beyond stability and tracking accuracy, beta version 15.27 also refines several aspects of the user interface and essential device functionality. The alignment of music app icons at a glance has been corrected, providing a more visually appealing and polished look. Moreover, a potential crash that could occur when loading maps has been addressed, enhancing the reliability of navigation features. The update also tackles various bugs related to passcode activity, contributing to a more secure and seamless user experience.
Pulse Oximetry Data Presentation Improved
Finally, this beta update introduces a subtle yet significant improvement to the presentation of pulse oximetry data. The Pulse Ox glance will now display “No Data” instead of “–” during sleep and in all-day mode when no data is available. This change offers a clearer and more intuitive understanding of the presented information.
