Garmin is introducing a new beta software update, version 23.05, for several of its high-end smartwatch models. This update is available for the Fenix 7 series, Epix 2, Enduro 2, Quatix 7, and Marq Gen 2 smartwatches, bringing a range of bug fixes and minor enhancements to improve the user experience.
Key Improvements and Bug Fixes
This beta release focuses on refining existing features and addressing various reported issues. For Pool Swim activities, users will now see a new tip displayed during rest sets, and an issue causing incorrect data on the laps review page has been resolved. Athletes utilizing ClimbPro will be pleased to know that a potential crash on its data page has been fixed.
Navigation has also received attention, with corrections made to prevent course distance data from sometimes being incorrectly set to nautical miles and to ensure accurate distance display when navigating a course. Furthermore, navigation prompts will no longer sound when all audio prompts are disabled, addressing a common user frustration.
Enhanced Data Presentation and Consistency
Garmin has also focused on data presentation and consistency across its devices. The Breath Variation page now features a more intuitive line graph, offering a clearer visual representation of the data. The Recent Stress Widget has been updated to match the appearance of the upcoming Fenix 8, offering a more unified aesthetic across the product line. For strength training enthusiasts, the displayed weight on the Strength Edit Set page will now accurately match that on other strength-related pages.
Specific Fixes for Golf and Tactix Users
Golfers using these smartwatches will benefit from a fix addressing an issue with golf club tracking. Additionally, Tactix series users will find that the wind direction will no longer change unexpectedly when connecting to a Laser Range Finder (LRF), ensuring more accurate readings during activities.
How to Install the Beta Update
Users eager to experience these improvements can manually download the update on their compatible Garmin device. To do so, simply navigate to the Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update > Check For Updates. This will allow your smartwatch to search for and install the version 23.05 beta software.
