Garmin has initiated the release of beta software version 17.23, aimed at a selection of its high-end smartwatches. This update is designed for users of the Fenix 8, Fenix E, Tactix 8, Quatix 8, and Enduro 3 models, bringing a series of important fixes to improve user experience.
Note: The Beta software available for the Fenix 8 series will have the ECG feature and Dive features disabled.
Key Enhancements and Bug Fixes
The update addresses several known issues, focusing on refining core functionalities and user interface elements. A notable fix has been applied to the Activity Stage Page Satellite Settings, resolving a configuration issue that was affecting how these settings were displayed.
Additionally, the update improves the functionality of certain keyboard languages, specifically fixing problems with the Emoji, Zhuyin, Thai, and Japanese keyboards. Users of these languages should now experience more stable and predictable keyboard performance.
Other significant fixes include correcting an error in the Morning Report that was causing all-day events to appear on the wrong day. The update also resolves issues with units not updating correctly and spacing within the Project Waypoint feature. Lastly, it rectifies a bug that prevented users from exiting the Evening Report using the device’s physical buttons.
How to Install the Beta Update
Users who wish to install this beta software can do so directly from their smartwatch. To access the update, navigate to the Main Menu on your device, then select Settings, followed by System. From there, choose Software Update and finally, Check For Updates. The device will then search for and download the latest version.
