Garmin is pushing out a significant beta software update, version 10.16, to its popular Instinct 3 AMOLED, Instinct 3 Solar, and Instinct E smartwatches. This update introduces a range of enhancements and crucial bug fixes designed to improve the overall user experience across these robust outdoor wearables.
Across All Instinct 3 and Instinct E Models
Users of all Instinct 3 and Instinct E smartwatches will benefit from several general improvements. A notable addition is Interval Alerts to Timers for non-Tactical profiles, providing more precise control during timed activities. Garmin has also resolved an issue with the Power Modes menu when accessed via Garmin Connect Mobile (GCM), ensuring consistent power management settings. Furthermore, a critical fix has been implemented for the Area Calc feature, correcting instances where calculation results might have been inaccurate.
Enhancements for Instinct Solar and Instinct E
Specifically for the Instinct Solar and Instinct E models, this update addresses a few key areas. A persistent issue where DogTrack distance would not display values exceeding one mile has been fixed, offering more comprehensive tracking for dog owners. Additionally, an issue with the Nautical Distance data field has been resolved, ensuring accurate readings for maritime activities.
Updates for Instinct Solar and Instinct AMOLED
Both the Instinct Solar and Instinct AMOLED smartwatches receive tailored improvements in this beta release. For fitness enthusiasts, Rep Alerts have been added to the Jump Rope activity, allowing for more structured and effective workouts. Garmin has also corrected a problem with the Pack Weight setting in GCM, ensuring accurate tracking of gear weight. Moreover, various issues related to Golf activity settings on the device and within GCM have been fixed, providing a smoother golfing experience.
Exclusive Additions for Instinct Solar
The Instinct Solar model, known for its exceptional battery life thanks to solar charging, gains new data fields. Users will now have access to Solar Intensity and Solar Accumulation data fields, offering more detailed insights into the watch’s solar charging performance throughout the day.
Specific Fixes for Instinct AMOLED
The Instinct AMOLED model, with its vibrant display, also receives dedicated fixes. A noticeable flashlight delay when using a Connect IQ (CIQ) watch face has been resolved, ensuring immediate illumination when needed. The update also rectifies issues with missing weather data when using Large Fonts and addresses problems with the Music data screen, enhancing the overall usability for AMOLED users.
