Garmin has officially begun the rollout of its latest beta software update, version 21.20, targeting its premium lineup of rugged wearables. This release is specifically designed for the Fenix 8 series (including the Pro models), the Fenix E, the Enduro 3, and the Tactix 8. As part of the ongoing beta program, this minor yet critical patch aims to refine the user experience by smoothing out software friction points discovered in previous builds.

Targeted Bug Fixes for Solar and Endurance Models
- Fixed Alarms on Enduro 3 only beeping once instead of continuously.
- Fixed Rest Timer appearing as blank during workouts on Solar devices.
The primary focus of this update is addressing two specific technical glitches that impacted functionality during active use. For Enduro 3 users, Garmin has resolved a frustrating bug where alarms would only beep once rather than ring continuously, ensuring that wake-up calls and reminders are much more reliable.
Additionally, owners of Solar-powered devices will find a fix for the “Rest Timer” issue. Previously, this timer would occasionally appear as a blank screen during intense workouts, a bug that disrupted the pacing for athletes relying on precise recovery intervals.
How to Install the 21.20 Update Manually
While Garmin often pushes these updates over the air (OTA), beta testers can bypass the wait by initiating a manual download directly from their wrist. To check for and install the new software, follow this navigation path on your watch:
-
Open the Main Menu
-
Select Settings
-
Navigate to System
-
Tap Software Update
-
Select Check For Updates
Once the device locates the 21.20 firmware, it will prompt you to begin the installation process.
