Garmin is rolling out a new stable software update, version 25.04, for a range of its popular smartwatches, including the Forerunner 965, 955, 265, 255, and 165 models. This update introduces several key improvements and fixes to enhance user experience and device performance.
What’s Included in the Update?
- Fix the Primary Race glance sometimes showing a secondary race.
- Fix Strength workouts not being marked complete in Garmin Run Coach plans.
- Improve some cases where wrist-based heart rate could appear unusually elevated during activity.
- Fix the Power Save Timeout setting in multisport profiles.

This software patch addresses a variety of issues and introduces valuable refinements. One of the notable fixes is for the Primary Race glance, which will no longer incorrectly display a secondary race. For those following structured training plans, a fix has been implemented to ensure that Strength workouts are correctly marked as complete in Garmin Run Coach plans.
The update also aims to improve the accuracy of health metrics. It includes an improvement for cases where wrist-based heart rate might have appeared unusually elevated during an activity. Furthermore, a fix has been applied to the Power Save Timeout setting within multisport profiles. How to Install the Update
You can manually download this new software update as soon as it becomes available. To do so, simply navigate through the menu on your device by following these steps: Menu > System > Software Update > Check For Updates. Alternatively, your device should automatically download and install the update when connected to Wi-Fi and a charger.
