Garmin Smartwatches Officially Gain Pokemon Sleep Support: The Full Guide

For years, Pokémon Sleep players have had to choose between leaving their expensive smartphones face down on their mattresses or purchasing the dedicated Pokémon GO Plus+ accessory. But as of March 13, 2026—just in time for World Sleep Day—the game has finally opened its doors to the gold standard of wearable technology: Garmin.

This new integration allows Garmin users to sync their watch’s high-fidelity sleep data directly into the Pokémon Sleep app. No more keeping your phone on the bed, and no more “pseudo-sleep” tracking via accelerometers. Here is everything you need to know about the collaboration that’s turning your recovery into an RPG.

Why This is a Game-Changer for Garmin Users

Garmin is renowned for its advanced sleep analytics, utilizing optical heart rate sensors and Pulse Ox technology to track sleep stages (Deep, Light, and REM). By bridging this data with Pokémon Sleep, users get the best of both worlds:

  • Hardware-Grade Accuracy: Your watch’s sensors are far more precise at detecting movement and heart rate than a smartphone resting on a mattress.

  • Phone-Free Bedtimes: You can now track your sleep while your phone charges safely on your nightstand, reducing the risk of overheating or battery degradation.

  • Body Battery Synergy: The integration introduces a unique “Body Battery” connection, where your real-world energy levels affect how your Pokémon appear on your wrist.

New Pokémon Watch Faces: A “Living” Wrist Companion

To celebrate the launch, Garmin has released two exclusive watch faces in the Connect IQ Store:

  1. “Snorlax & Friends”: Features a classic scene on Greengrass Isle with Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle.

  2. “I Choose You”: A customizable face where you can select one favorite from a roster of 48 different Pokémon.

The standout feature? Reactive Poses. These watch faces are tied to Garmin’s Body Battery™ metric. When your energy is high, your Pokémon will look happy and energetic. As your Body Battery drains throughout the day, your Pokémon will appear tired or sleepy. Additionally, 90 minutes before your scheduled bedtime, the watch face automatically enters a “Night Mode” to help you wind down.

Limited-Time Rewards

If you link your accounts before November 1, 2026, The Pokémon Company is offering a “thank you” gift to Garmin users. Upon your first successful sleep sync, you can claim three Poké Biscuits from the in-game Gift Box to help you befriend more Pokémon in your sleep research.

How to Set It Up

The connection relies on Health Connect (Android) or Apple Health (iOS) acting as the bridge between Garmin Connect and Pokémon Sleep.

  1. Update Your Apps: Ensure Garmin Connect and Pokémon Sleep are running the latest versions.

  2. Grant Permissions: * Android: Open Pokémon Sleep > Settings > Pair a Device > Sync with Health Connect. Ensure Garmin Connect is also authorized to write data to Health Connect.

    • iOS: Sync Garmin Connect with Apple Health, then allow Pokémon Sleep to read sleep data from the Health app.

  3. Sleep: Wear your Garmin watch to bed. In the morning, open Pokémon Sleep and tap “Sync Data” to see which Pokémon gathered around your Snorlax based on your Garmin-tracked rest.

Compatibility Check

  • Fenix Series: Fenix 8, Fenix 8 Pro, and Fenix E.

  • Forerunner Series: Forerunner 165, 265, 570, 965, and 970.

  • Venu & Vivoactive: Venu 2, 3, and 4; Vivoactive 5 and 6.

  • Others: Instinct 3, Epix Pro, and Epix Gen 2.

The Bottom Line

For the Garmin community, this isn’t just a fun “skin”—it’s a functional integration that validates the importance of recovery. Whether you’re a marathoner tracking your taper or a casual user trying to fix a messy sleep schedule, Pokémon Sleep adds a layer of delight to the data.
