Garmin Venu 4 gets beta software update version 15.10: What’s new?

Garmin is currently deploying a new beta software update, version 15.10, for owners of the Venu 4 series smartwatches. This update aims to significantly enhance the overall user experience by tackling several key bugs and implementing various system improvements. Users participating in the beta program can expect a more stable and reliable device following this patch.

Note: The Beta software available for the Venu 4/4S will have the ECG feature disabled

Core Stability and Calling Fixes

A major focus of the 15.10 update is resolving issues related to device stability and handling of phone calls. A critical fix addresses a bug where the device’s speaker could become muted or the Venu 4 might reboot immediately after a user attempted to answer a call while music was actively playing through the speakers. Furthermore, Garmin has patched an issue that could lead to the device unexpectedly rebooting when the user received multiple smart notifications in rapid succession, ensuring smoother multitasking.

Notification and Reporting Accuracy

The update brings important improvements to the accuracy and timing of key features. Users who have noticed discrepancies in their notification count will benefit from a fix for an issue that could cause the notification number on the watch face to be incorrect. Additionally, the update resolves a timing glitch that prevented the evening report from displaying at the proper, scheduled time, helping users keep track of their daily summaries consistently.

Voice Feature Refinements and Security

Garmin has also made subtle but significant tweaks to the voice note functionality. The update specifically reduces the “click” sound often heard at the very beginning of a voice note, resulting in a cleaner audio experience. A separate fix addresses a peculiar bug that could cause a voice note to replay at half speed, restoring normal playback. For enhanced convenience, the update now allows the Venu 4 device to be powered down without requiring a passcode to be entered first.

How to Get the Software Update

Alongside all the specific fixes, version 15.10 includes various general bug fixes and performance improvements designed to make the Venu 4 run more efficiently. Beta users who wish to install this update manually can do so on their device by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Main menu.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Select System.
  4. Choose Software Update.
  5. Tap Check For Updates.
