Garmin Venu X1 Receives Beta Software Update 16.37: What’s New?

Garmin has officially released a fresh firmware update for its Venu X1 smartwatch lineup. Currently available through the brand’s Beta Program, version 16.37 focuses on refining the user experience by smoothing out performance jitters and addressing specific software instabilities reported by the community.

Critical Stability Enhancements

The primary objective of this release is to eliminate disruptive system crashes. Specifically, Garmin’s engineering team has addressed a bug that caused devices to reboot or freeze when connecting to Bluetooth headphones. Additionally, users who rely on the HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) activity profile should notice a significant improvement in reliability, as a known crash during high-burn sessions has been patched.

Smart Features and Navigation Fixes

Beyond system stability, the 16.37 update polishes several daily-use features. A persistent glitch that limited goal alerts—such as step counts, or floor climbs—to just one notification per day has been resolved, ensuring users receive proper credit for their milestones. Furthermore, outdoor enthusiasts will benefit from improved course planner performance, making the process of mapping out routes and following breadcrumb trails much more fluid.

Optimization and Global Support

Rounding out the update is a collection of minor bug fixes aimed at improving general system responsiveness. To ensure the Venu X1 remains accessible to a worldwide audience, Garmin has also bundled updated translations within this build, refining the language and terminology used across various localized interfaces.

How to Install the Beta Update

For those enrolled in the Beta Program, you don’t have to wait for the automatic rollout. You can trigger the download immediately by navigating through your watch menus:

  1. Open the Main Menu.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Tap on System.

  4. Choose Software Update.

  5. Select Check For Updates to begin the installation.
