Leaked: Garmin Cirqa Smart Band Ready to Take on Whoop with New Wrist-Based Design

Garmin is preparing to broaden its fitness portfolio with the introduction of a brand-new wearable designed to compete in the growing screenless smart band market. Recently discovered leaks suggest that the tech giant is moving beyond its traditional smartwatch designs to challenge industry leaders like Whoop.

A New Contender in the Smart Band Market

While Garmin has long dominated the GPS smartwatch sector, the upcoming Garmin Cirqa Smart Band marks a strategic shift. Unlike the company’s previous Index Sleep Monitor, which was designed for the upper arm, the Cirqa is a dedicated wrist-based tracker.

This move signals Garmin’s intent to capture users who prefer a minimalist, distraction-free wearable that focuses on deep health metrics and recovery data rather than app notifications and bright displays.

Discovery and Early Details

The existence of the Cirqa Smart Band came to light after a brief, premature listing on Garmin’s Canadian website. Although the page was quickly taken down, eagle-eyed users on Reddit managed to capture screenshots of the product details.

According to the leaked information, the device will be available in two distinct sizes to accommodate a wide range of users:

  • Small/Medium: Designed for wrists with a circumference starting at 120 mm.

  • Large/Extra Large: Tailored for wrist sizes ranging from 145 mm up to 240 mm.

Early listings also indicate that the band will debut in two classic colorways: Black and French Grey.

Launch Timeline and Expectations

While Garmin used a placeholder image on the leaked page—keeping the final aesthetic of the band a mystery for now—the appearance of the listing suggests an official announcement is imminent.

Current shipping estimates found in the leak point toward a release window in late May or June. However, given that the product has already begun appearing on regional websites, tech enthusiasts expect Garmin to formally unveil the Cirqa Smart Band much sooner.

This new addition follows a busy month for the brand, which recently saw the launch of the Quatix 8 Pro and the Approach J1, further cementing Garmin’s aggressive expansion in the wearable tech space for 2026.
