Garmin is sending out a fresh software update for several of its popular bike computers. The new stable version, numbered 31.33, targets a mix of current and older models. If you own an Edge 540, 550, 840, 850, 1040, or the top-tier 1050, this update is meant for your device.
What the Update Changes
- Fix potential GPS signal drops.
The main goal of this release is reliability out on the road. Garmin’s official release notes show that version 31.33 specifically targets an annoying issue where some riders were experiencing sudden, unexpected drops in their GPS signal. Losing your connection in the middle of a tough climb or an unfamiliar route can ruin your ride data and mess up your navigation. This patch aims to stabilize the connection, ensuring your device tracks your distance, speed, and map accurately without cutting out.
