Garmin Venu X1 Receives Fresh Stable Update Version 17.38: What’s New?

Garmin has released a fresh software build for the flagship Venu X1. The premium smartwatch is receiving stable update version 17.38.

This release skips new features or user interface changes in favor of necessary background performance maintenance.

What Does Version 17.38 Include?

According to Garmin’s release notes, the single improvement in this update is:

  • General security improvements

Security patches like this plug system vulnerabilities, keep your stored health data safe, and ensure stable device connections. While it lacks new sports metrics or visual tools, installing it keeps your smartwatch protected and running smoothly.

How to Get the Update on Your Watch

Garmin devices typically download updates automatically when synced with the Garmin Connect app. If you want to install build 17.38 right away, you can force a manual check directly on the device.

To download it manually:

  1. Bring up the Main Menu.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. Select System.

  4. Choose Software Update.

  5. Tap Check For Updates.

Your Venu X1 will look for the update over Wi-Fi or your phone’s connection and prompt you to start the installation.
