Garmin releases beta update 23.26 for Fenix 8/8 Pro, Tactix 8, and Enduro 3: What’s new?

Garmin has begun rolling out its latest beta software update, version 23.26, for a wide range of its premium smartwatches. The fresh download is now live for owners of the Fenix 8, Fenix 8 Pro, Fenix E, Quatix 8, Tactix 8, and Enduro 3.

While this is a minor point release rather than a feature-packed upgrade, it addresses several annoying software bugs that early testers reported in recent weeks.

Voice assistant and audio fixes

The main focus of update 23.26 is fixing core functionality issues across the user interface. First, Garmin resolved a bug that caused the built-in phone assistant feature to freeze or fail when receiving voice commands. This fix ensures that hands-free controls work as expected again when connected to a smartphone.

Additionally, the update solves a frustrating glitch in the music application. Before this patch, some users found that adjusting the volume during audio playback didn’t work properly or didn’t respond at all. That system has now been calibrated for smoother audio control.

System stability and translation updates

Beyond the two main audio and voice patches, Garmin bundled several under-the-hood stability improvements into this release. The developers cleared up a handful of minor system bugs that caused occasional performance stutters.

To improve the user experience for international customers, the company also updated its system translations across multiple languages to ensure that menu options and alerts are clear.

How to download update 23.26

If you are enrolled in Garmin’s Beta Program, you don’t have to wait for the automatic over-the-air rollout. You can trigger the download manually straight from your wrist.

To get the update:

  1. Open the Main Menu on your smartwatch.

  2. Select Settings, then scroll down and tap System.

  3. Select Software Update.

  4. Tap Check For Updates to start downloading version 23.26.
