Garmin is rolling out a brand-new beta software update, version 14.15, for its latest lineup of rugged wearables. The update is hitting several models, including the Instinct 3 AMOLED, Instinct 3 Solar, Instinct E, and the Instinct Crossover.
What is Fixed for the Garmin Instinct E?
A couple of specific bugs were causing headaches for Instinct E users, but this update clears them right up. First, Garmin fixed a frustrating glitch where the watch would stay locked even after you entered the correct passcode.
Second, if you ever noticed strange, garbled text popping up on your Heart Rate broadcast screen, that visual bug has officially been squashed.
Fixes for Solar and Other Instinct Models
The Instinct E isn’t the only watch getting some love. Garmin also rolled out a fix specifically targeting both the Instinct E and the Instinct Solar models.
Users of these solar-powered watches were also seeing scrambled characters and weird text on their Heart Rate broadcast screens. Update 14.15 cleans up the display so your data looks exactly the way it should.
How to Get the Update Right Now
While beta updates sometimes roll out automatically, you don’t have to wait around for this one. You can grab it manually straight from your wrist.
Just press the Main Menu button, head over to Settings, scroll down to System, select Software Update, and tap Check For Updates. Your watch will handle the rest.
