Garmin has released two fresh beta software updates—versions 32.19 and 32.20—for its popular cycling computers. The new firmware is currently rolling out to the Edge 1050, 850, and 550 models, as well as the MTB series.
Everything Changing in This Release
- Fixed RearVue 820 pairing issue
- Improved device stability and addressed various minor bugs
The biggest fix in this release targets cyclists using the RearVue 820 radar unit. Many users reported that their bike computers failed to connect, dropped signals unexpectedly, or refused to recognize the radar entirely during setup. This update cleans up those pairing handshakes so the two devices link up quickly and stay connected throughout your ride.
Beyond that specific fix, Garmin focused heavily on underlying system performance. The update patches several minor bugs that previously caused random screen freezes, inaccurate menu loads, or quiet battery drain in the background. By smoothing out these software hitches, your device should run faster, feel more responsive to touch inputs, and stay stable even during long navigation routes.
How to Install the Beta Software
Installing the fix takes just a few steps directly from your device, as long as you are connected to Wi-Fi.
-
Connect your Garmin Edge device to your local Wi-Fi network.
-
Open the Main Menu on your screen.
-
Scroll down and tap System.
-
Select About, then tap Check For Updates.
