Garmin has started releasing a fresh beta software update for several of its popular smartwatches. The new version, labeled 27.17, is rolling out to owners of the Fenix 7, Epix 2, Enduro 2, Quatix 7, and Marq Gen 2 models.
What does version 27.17 fix?
- Fixed an issue where Broadcast HR would sometimes cause a device shutdown.
This quick release focuses on fixing a sudden crash issue. Previously, some users reported that using the Broadcast HR feature—which sends your heart rate data to other devices like bike computers or gym equipment—would randomly turn off the watch. The new patch eliminates this bug to keep your device running smoothly during workouts.
How to get the update manually
If your smartwatch hasn’t downloaded the patch automatically yet, you can fetch it yourself through the settings menu. Simply head to the Main Menu on your watch, select Settings, tap System, go to Software Update, and choose Check For Updates to start the download.
