Garmin Drops New Stable Update 17.37 for Forerunner 970 and 570 Watches

Garmin is sending out a fresh software update for people who wear the Forerunner 970 and Forerunner 570 smartwatches. The new version is called stable update 17.37, and it is designed to fix a few annoying bugs that users have been dealing with lately.

If your watch has been acting up during workouts or draining juice too fast, this download should make things run a lot smoother.

What is New in Version 17.37?

This update is all about fixing mistakes in the system rather than adding flashy new tools. Garmin tracked down three main problems and patched them up:

  • Better Treadmill Tracking: Runners noticed that calibrating their watch on a treadmill wasn’t working right. This fix makes sure your indoor distance tracking is actually accurate.

  • No More Golf Crashes: Some golfers reported that their watch would suddenly restart right in the middle of a round. That frustrating bug is now gone.

  • Longer Battery Life: A glitch was draining the battery much faster than normal. The update stops this power leak so your watch lasts as long as it is supposed to.

How to Download It Right Now

While the update will eventually hit everyone’s wrist automatically, you do not have to wait around for it. You can force your watch to grab the new software immediately by digging into the menus.

To get it manually, press the button to open your Main Menu, then tap Settings. From there, head into System, look for Software Update, and select Check For Updates. Make sure your watch has a good amount of battery life left before you start the installation.
