Garmin has started rolling out a fresh software update for two of its popular smartwatches. Owners of the Venu 4 and Vivoactive 6 will soon see version 17.37 landing on their devices. This stable release focuses heavily on squashing a few annoying bugs that have been bothering users lately.
Better Treadmill Tracking and Golf Fixes
If you use your watch to track indoor runs, this update is for you. Garmin has fixed a stubborn glitch that caused treadmill calibration to fail. With this patch, your indoor distance tracking should finally be accurate again.
Golfers are also getting some relief. The update irons out a serious bug that was causing the smartwatches to suddenly crash and reset right in the middle of a golf activity.
Battery Life Gets a Boost
Perhaps the most important fix in this rollout targets the battery. A recent issue had been draining the power much faster than usual, leaving users frustrated with shorter-than-expected battery life. Version 17.37 puts an end to that drain, restoring the watches to their normal, long-lasting performance.
How to Get the Update
While the software is rolling out automatically, you don’t have to wait around for it. You can manually force the download right now by tapping through your watch’s menus.
Just head over to the Main Menu, select Settings, tap System, choose Software Update, and click Check For Updates.
