Garmin has started sending out a new beta software update, version 33.12, for several of its popular bike computers. The update is available for riders using the Edge 1050, Edge 850, Edge 550, and MTB series devices.
This latest release focuses on fixing annoying glitches and making sure your GPS device runs reliably during long rides.
Key Bug Fixes and Performance Upgrades
The biggest fix in this update targets long-distance cyclists who rely on Garmin’s LiveTrack feature to share their location with family and friends. Previously, these tracking sessions would automatically shut off after 24 hours. The new software removes that limit, allowing multi-day rides to continue without interruption.
Garmin also made a small but helpful change to the “Find My Edge” safety feature. The update prevents the locator alarm from accidentally being muted, ensuring your device will ring loudly if you ever drop or misplace it on the trail. Alongside these fixes, the company improved overall system stability and patched several minor bugs to keep the user interface running smoothly.
How to Download and Install
Updating your Edge computer takes only a couple of minutes once your device is connected to Wi-Fi.
To get the patch, open the Main Menu on your unit, navigate to System, select About, and tap Check For Updates to begin downloading the latest software.
