Garmin releases new beta software update 15.05 for Venu 3 and Vivoactive 5 smartwatches

Garmin is releasing a new beta software update, version 15.05, for several of its popular smartwatches. Owners of the Venu 3, Venu 3S, and Vivoactive 5 will find that this update brings important fixes and improvements designed to make their devices more reliable and easier to use. This new version targets some of the most common user-reported issues, from activity tracking glitches to display problems.

Note: The Beta software available for the Venu 3 series will have the ECG feature disabled.

Fixing Common Issues and Improving Performance

This software update is packed with crucial bug fixes across the board. Golfers will be happy to hear that two significant issues have been addressed: one that caused the auto-shot feature to stop working unexpectedly, and another related to problems with downloaded golf courses. These fixes should provide a much smoother experience on the green.

Beyond sports, the update also improves everyday functionality. It resolves an issue where wheelchair pushes were incorrectly counted during swim activities, ensuring more accurate data for users. Additionally, the update fixes a missing Easycard icon, which some users had reported. For those who use the smartwatch for health and wellness, the update also refines the breathwork activity audio and updates breathing variations, enhancing the guided breathing exercises.

Enhancing Device Security and Functionality

Security and usability are also a focus of this release. The update includes improvements to the device passcode system, offering a more secure way to protect your personal data. These changes reflect Garmin’s commitment to continuously refining the user experience, not just through new features but also by making existing ones more robust.

To get the new software, you’ll need to manually download it. On your device, simply go to the main menu, navigate to Settings, then System, and finally select Software Update. From there, you can choose Check For Updates to begin the download and install the new software.
