Garmin has officially begun the rollout of a new stable software update, version 25.06, for several of its popular Forerunner series smartwatches. This firmware update is being pushed to a wide range of models, including the Forerunner 965, 955, 265, 255, and the newly released 165. This move aims to enhance the overall user experience and reliability across a substantial portion of the company’s athletic wearable lineup.
Key Improvements and Fixes in Version 25.06
- Fix an issue causing the settings to be hidden for the first added custom alert.
- General stability improvements.
The new software package addresses several crucial points reported by users. The most notable fix resolves a specific bug related to custom notifications. Previously, some users experienced an issue where the settings for the very first custom alert they added were unintentionally hidden. This update ensures that all custom alert settings are displayed correctly and consistently, allowing athletes to fine-tune their alerts as needed. Beyond this specific correction, Garmin has also incorporated general stability improvements across the system, which should translate into smoother performance and better overall reliability for the supported devices.
How to Get the New Forerunner Software
For the majority of users, the update process will be seamless and automatic. If you currently have auto updates enabled on your device, the firmware version 25.06 will be sent to your smartwatch wirelessly in the coming days.
However, if you prefer not to wait or wish to initiate the update immediately, you can easily perform a manual check. To do so, simply navigate through your watch’s menu using the following steps:
- Go to the Main menu.
- Select Settings.
- Choose System.
- Navigate to Software Update.
