What’s New on the Edge 1060?

At first glance, the new Edge 1060 shares a lot of DNA with the older Edge 1050. It keeps the gorgeous 3.5-inch color touchscreen and the same reliable battery specs, offering up to 20 hours under heavy, demanding use and up to 60 hours in battery-saver mode.

However, the biggest hardware addition this time around is a built-in microphone. While the previous generation introduced a speaker, the 1060 combines both a speaker and a microphone to enable full voice control.

Say Hello to “OK Garmin” Voice Control

One of the standout features of this release is the new voice control system. By simply saying “Okay, Garmin,” riders can interact with the device without taking their hands off the handlebars or staring down at the map.

You can use voice commands to do things like:

  • Report a road hazard or pothole instantly

  • Route you to the nearest coffee shop or rest stop

  • Check your live heart rate and training stats

Additionally, the device works with the Garmin Messenger app to let you send and receive voice messages directly through the built-in speaker while you ride.

Smarter Navigation and Road Hazard Alerts

Garmin has also overhauled how you find your way on long rides. The new Route Options feature lets you compare multiple paths to your destination based on ride time, elevation profile, and your specific bike type.

Meanwhile, community-driven safety features have gotten an upgrade. Cyclists can now report road closures and hazards entirely by voice. These alerts are shared live with other Garmin users on the road, alongside warnings for potholes, traffic, and unexpected obstacles.

Pricing and Availability

The Garmin Edge 1060 launches with an official price tag of $799.99—sitting $100 higher than the launch price of the Edge 1050. According to Garmin’s product page, orders open up on October 23.

After months of tracking leaks and waiting for the mystery to unravel, cyclists finally have their answer. Whether you are looking to upgrade your setup or simply love keeping up with the latest tech, the Edge 1060 looks ready to make its mark on the road.
