Alongside the flagship Edge 1060, Garmin has officially unveiled the brand-new Edge Explore 3 and Edge Explore 3 Plus. These new additions bring fresh navigation tech, longer battery life, and smart features to riders looking for a dedicated touring and adventure computer.
Priced at $399.99 for the base model and $499.99 for the Plus version, both units are slated to open for orders on October 23.
Two Models for Adventure Cyclists

Following up on the popular Edge Explore 2, Garmin has split the Explore lineup into two distinct options this time around. Both variants sport a crisp 3-inch color touchscreen display and significantly improved battery longevity in saver mode. The new devices push up to 48 hours in battery-saver mode, which doubles the 24 hours offered by the previous generation.
In standard demanding use, the base Edge Explore 3 holds onto 16 hours of battery life. The feature-packed Plus model runs for roughly 14 hours due to its extra hardware capabilities.
What the Edge Explore 3 Plus Adds
If you opt for the higher-end Edge Explore 3 Plus, you get several hardware upgrades that mirror Garmin’s top-tier cycling computers. The Plus model features a built-in speaker and microphone, which enables full “OK Garmin” voice control. Riders can request new routes, check live training stats, or report road hazards hands-free without stopping.
The microphone also allows you to send voice messages through the on-device Garmin Messenger app, while the speaker plays incoming voice messages, navigation prompts, and a digital bike bell. The Plus model also includes built-in Wi-Fi and a Wi-Fi map manager for easy updates without plugging into a computer.
Smarter Routing and Pin Drop Navigation
Both models add several practical navigation tools to make rides smoother. A standout feature is Pin Drop Navigation, which lets you select a location pin or point of interest in Apple Maps or Google Maps on your phone and send it directly to the Edge. The device then creates a custom bike route to that exact spot.
Garmin has also added Route Options to compare paths by elevation and bike type, alongside Free Flow Routing to find paths with fewer stops and intersections. Community-driven hazard alerts let riders receive and share real-time warnings for potholes, road closures, and traffic obstacles.
