Garmin is moving fast to fix problems on its latest smartwatches. Just three days after launching beta versions 17.30 and 17.31, the company is already rolling out a brand-new software update. This new software, beta version 17.33, is now hitting the Venu 4 and Vivoactive 6. The quick launch shows that Garmin’s team is working hard to fix major glitches right after testers find them.
What is New in This Update?
Unlike previous updates that only mentioned general fixes, this release targets specific problems that were frustrating users. First, it fixes a major bug that was causing the smartwatches to randomly restart on their own. It also makes the touchscreen much more responsive when you try to turn the volume up or down. If you use the watch to log your food, the nutrition app will now show the exact minutes for your meal times, instead of just the hour. Finally, the update fixes some text translations across the system.
There is also a critical fix just for the Venu 4. Garmin patched a nasty glitch that caused the watch to completely freeze up or reset right in the middle of a multisport workout.
How to Download It Now
If you do not want to wait for the watch to update on its own, you can force the download manually today. Just open the main menu on your device and tap on Settings. From there, head into System, select Software Update, and then click Check For Updates to get the fixes immediately.
