Just two weeks after dropping version 6.48, Garmin is back with another fresh software release. The company has officially started rolling out a brand new stable update, version 6.49, specifically designed for the Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro smartwatches.
If you are wearing one of these premium sports watches, you might be wondering what is new in this patch.
What is Fixed in Version 6.49?
- Fixes potential shutdown on the watch face with certain languages.
Unlike massive feature updates that change how your entire watch looks, this release is all about fixing a pesky bug.
Garmin built this update to tackle one specific issue: a potential sudden shutdown bug that could happen right on the watch face when using certain languages. If your watch was randomly turning off because of the language settings you chose, this update aims to fix that headache for good.
How to Download the Update Right Now
Garmin usually pushes updates out in waves, which means it might take a few days to show up automatically on your wrist. However, you do not have to wait if you want it right now.
You can easily grab the update manually by following these simple steps:
-
Go to the Main Menu on your watch
-
Open Settings
-
Select System
-
Tap on Software Update
-
Choose Check for Updates and let your watch do the rest
