After a long time with no news, we finally have a fresh clue about the Garmin Vivosmart 6.
If you are like me, you’ve probably spent the last few months digging through international databases. I’ve searched the FCC (USA), SIRIM (Malaysia), and even tracking sites in China and Vietnam, hoping to find a single mention of a new Garmin tracker. For a while, there was nothing but silence.
However, the wait might be over. A reader over at GarminRumors just spotted something very interesting while using the Garmin Connect website.
The Leak in the Survey

While using the web version of Garmin Connect, a user was asked to take a survey about their fitness habits. One of the questions asked: “Which activity tracker do you use primarily?“
Under the list of choices, nestled among existing watches, was the Vivosmart 6.
This is a big deal because it’s not just a rumor from a social media post—it’s a name appearing inside Garmin’s own official system. It suggests that Garmin is already preparing its software and marketing research for a launch.
What We Know So Far
We haven’t heard much since December, but the details we do have are exciting. Based on earlier leaks from regulatory listings and website metadata, the Vivosmart 6 is expected to bring some major upgrades:
-
Built-in GPS: This would be the biggest change. The current Vivosmart 5 has to “borrow” GPS from your phone. Having it built in means you can go for a run or walk without carrying your smartphone.
-
More Sports Apps: Rumors suggest over 30 different sports modes, including specific tracking for wheelchair users.
-
Slim Design: It will likely keep the small, “band-style” look that fans of the Vivosmart series love.
Vivosmart 6 vs. Cirqa
Lately, many people have been talking about a different device called the Garmin Cirqa. Some thought the Vivosmart was being replaced by this new “Cirqa” band.
However, the appearance of the Vivosmart 6 in this survey suggests that Garmin might release both. The Cirqa is rumored to be a screenless health tracker (like a Whoop band), while the Vivosmart 6 will remain the classic choice for people who want a tiny screen on their wrist to check their steps and heart rate.
When is it coming?
Garmin hasn’t officially announced anything yet. But usually, when a device starts appearing in internal surveys and international databases, a release is right around the corner.
Stay tuned—after months of searching, it looks like the Vivosmart 6 is finally real.
