This update introduces a wide array of new functionalities and crucial bug fixes, aiming to enhance user experience and expand the capabilities of these already powerful devices. Users can anticipate a more intuitive interface, advanced fitness tracking metrics, and improved overall stability.

Note: The Beta software available for the Fenix 8 series will have the ECG feature and Dive features disabled.

Expanding Horizons: New Features and Apps

This beta release brings a wealth of new features designed to streamline daily interactions and deepen fitness insights. One notable addition is the ability to access the apps list by simply swiping left on the watch face, offering quicker navigation. For everyday convenience, a Calculator App has been integrated, alongside Custom Focus Modes for personalized user profiles. Athletes will appreciate expanded Morning Report support and the introduction of Evening Report support, providing more comprehensive daily summaries. Communication gets a boost with an Emoji Keyboard and the Japanese Kana Keyboard, in addition to more QWERTY keyboard layouts.

Advanced Training and Navigation Enhancements

The update significantly enhances training and activity tracking capabilities. For strength enthusiasts, editing for all previous sets in Strength is now possible. Multisport athletes benefit from Multisport Workout Support, Triathlon Adaptive Training Plan Support, and Triathlon Race Events Support, offering more tailored training options. Running metrics are greatly improved with Running Economy Support, Running Power added to the Lactate Threshold Page, and Running Tolerance Support, along with Step Speed Loss Support. Sailors will also find a Race Timer Data Field for Sail Race Activity.

Interface Improvements and Bug Resolutions

Beyond new features, version 17.11 addresses a substantial list of bug fixes, improving the stability and reliability of the smartwatches. Several crashes have been resolved, including those related to Anchor App Alarm Settings, Cycling Ability Glance, Daily Suggested Workout Previews, and removing stock from the Stock Widget. Visual and data inconsistencies have been ironed out, such as the Body Battery Value Overlapping Icon on Watch Face, Inconsistency Between Temperature Glance and App, and Invalid VO2 Max Value When Device is Locked. Interface elements like the Black Progress Bar on Intensity Minutes and the Header on Climbing Grade Selection Menu have been corrected. Furthermore, improvements have been made to answering and declining phone calls with Touch and Find My Device to always use max volume.
