Garmin D2 Air X15 Rumored to Launch Soon with Venu 4-Based Upgrade

Following a wave of recent releases—including the Bounce 2, Instinct Crossover AMOLED, and Venu 4—Garmin is reportedly preparing to launch another new smartwatch. Leaks suggest a new D2 Air model is on the horizon, set to follow the recently released Venu 4 and surpass the current D2 Air X10 with its advanced features. This latest rumor comes just days after the company’s recent global product rollout.

The Evolution of the D2 Air Series

The D2 Air series hasn’t seen an update in over three years, with the D2 Air X10 being the most recent release. The X10 was built on the foundation of the Venu 2 Plus, but a Venu 3-based model never materialized. Now, it seems Garmin is bypassing the Venu 3 and going straight to the Venu 4 for the foundation of its next D2 Air model. The new watch is rumored to be called the D2 Air X15.

Anticipated Features and Release Window

While a specific launch date hasn’t been announced, industry insiders believe the D2 Air X15 will be released this autumn. The new model is expected to carry over key features from its predecessor, such as access to a global airport database and the ability to wirelessly transfer flight plans from the Garmin Pilot app. Additionally, the D2 Air X15 will likely incorporate many of the upgrades found in the Venu 4. This new launch may be one of several for Garmin, as a new D2 Mach 2 model was also hinted at earlier this year.
