Garmin Drops Another Beta Update 32.12 for Edge 1050, 850, and 550

Garmin is moving fast with its software updates. Just three days after launching beta version 32.10, the company is already pushing out a new update—beta version 32.12—for its popular cycling computers.

The fresh software is available for riders using the Garmin Edge 1050, Edge 850, and Edge 840 models.

A Quick Fix for Booting Issues

  • Fix potential freeze on boot

This update is small but important. According to Garmin’s release notes, the main goal of version 32.12 is to fix a bug that could cause the device to freeze up or lock when it is turning on.

Because it targets a potential startup glitch, riders who have been experiencing freezes will want to grab this patch right away to keep their devices running smoothly.

How to Get the New Beta Software

If you are part of Garmin’s beta program, getting the update is simple. First, make sure your Edge device is connected to a local Wi-Fi network.

From there, follow these quick steps on your device:

  • Open the Main Menu.

  • Scroll down and tap System.

  • Select About.

  • Choose Check For Updates to start the download.
