Garmin has launched a fresh stable update, version 27.18, for several of its top smartwatch lineups. The patch is now available for the Fenix 7, Epix 2, Enduro 2, Marq Gen 2, Quatix 7, and Tactix 7 models, bringing targeted fixes to solve annoying bugs and keep things running smoothly.
Fixing Unexpected Crashes and Connection Bugs
A major highlight of this update is a fix for a crash issue that caused watches to shut down unexpectedly while using navigation tools. Garmin also resolved a problem that blocked users on non-Wi-Fi models from accessing their music controls. Additionally, the patch addresses a bug that prevented watches from pairing with heart rate monitors over open connections.
Display and Weather Improvements
The new software cleans up a few display glitches that were frustrating users. Your watch will no longer kick you out of Sleep Mode at the wrong time, and the screen won’t randomly invert its colors mid-workout anymore. Weather tracking is also more reliable now, fixing a bug where forecast data would freeze and fail to refresh.
Bug Fixes for Tracking and Features
A couple of smaller tools got some needed attention as well. Gamers and anglers who use the Fish Interval timer will notice it now resets properly every time a catch is logged. Meanwhile, the “Find My Phone” feature should work normally again—fixing a bug where its alert sounds would stay silent if used right after finishing a workout.
How to Get the Update
If your watch hasn’t updated on its own yet, you can trigger the download manually. Open the Main Menu on your watch, scroll down to Settings, select System, tap Software Update, and choose Check For Updates.
