Just 48 hours after launching beta version 23.11, Garmin is already pushing out another software update. The new beta version 23.12 is rolling out now for a handful of premium models, including the Fenix 8, Fenix E, Enduro 3, Quatix 8, and Tactix 8.
It is incredibly rare to see back-to-back updates this quickly, suggesting Garmin wanted to patch a few bugs before the weekend.
Note: The Beta software available for the Fenix 8 series will have the ECG feature and Dive features Disabled.
What Is Fixed in This Update?
While this is a smaller release focused mostly on stability, it targets a highly specific problem that indoor runners have been dealing with. The main fix solves a frustrating bug where the treadmill calibration feature would fail. Usually, when you finish a treadmill run, your watch lets you adjust the final distance to match what the treadmill machine actually says. This bug was causing that calibration process to break, meaning indoor runners couldn’t get accurate distance tracking or correct pace data in their logs.
Beyond the treadmill fix, the change log is relatively short. It includes a handful of under-the-hood adjustments aimed at cleaning up minor, unnamed system glitches. These small tweaks are designed to prevent unexpected battery drain, fix random screen freezes, and keep the user interface feeling snappy.
