Garmin Quickly Drops Beta Update 17.31 for Vivoactive 6 Smartwatches

Garmin is sending out a fresh software update for the Vivoactive 6 smartwatch. The new software, Beta Version 17.31, comes just seven days after the company released its previous beta version. This rapid release shows that Garmin is working quickly to fix a few performance bugs on the health and fitness watch.

Crucial Fix for Random Watch Crashes

The most important part of this software release is a major stability fix. Garmin has patched a frustrating issue that caused the Vivoactive 6 to reboot or reset itself randomly during daily use. Installing this update should keep the smartwatch running smoothly without sudden interruptions.

Screen Improvements and App Tweaks

Along with the crash fix, the update brings a few small changes to make the watch easier to use every day. Users will notice that the touchscreen is now more responsive when turning the volume up or down. Garmin also updated the built-in nutrition tracking app; when you log your meals, the screen will now show the exact minutes instead of just the hour. Finally, the software updates various language translations across the system menus.

How to Get the Update Right Away

If you are enrolled in Garmin’s Beta testing program, you do not have to wait for the automatic rollout to hit your device. You can download version 17.31 manually right now. To do this, open the Main Menu on your watch, head to Settings, choose System, select Software Update, and then tap Check For Updates.
