Garmin releases new stable update 15.05 for Venu 3 and Vivoactive 5 smartwatches

Garmin is rolling out a significant new software update, version 15.05, for its popular smartwatch lines, the Venu 3, Venu 3S, and Vivoactive 5. This update isn’t just a minor patch; it introduces a range of important fixes and quality-of-life improvements aimed at enhancing the user experience across these devices. While the changes may seem small individually, together they represent a meaningful step in refining the performance and reliability of these smartwatches.

Key Improvements and Bug Fixes

A primary focus of this update is to resolve several persistent issues that users have been reporting. For those who use their watches for mindfulness and relaxation, the update addresses a bug with the breathwork activity audio, ensuring the guided breathing exercises work as intended. Golf enthusiasts will also appreciate a fix for a problem where downloaded golf courses were not functioning correctly, as well as an issue that caused the golf auto-shot feature to stop working unexpectedly.

Beyond these specific fixes, the 15.05 update brings broader improvements. Garmin has updated the way breathing variations are handled, likely to offer more accurate and responsive tracking. The device passcode system has also received updates, though specific details on these changes have not been provided. For wheelchair users, the update corrects an issue that caused an inaccurate increase in wheelchair pushes during swimming activities, a crucial fix for maintaining accurate activity data. Lastly, a minor but important fix has been included to restore a missing Easycard icon on compatible devices.

How to Install the Update

The 15.05 software version for the Vivoactive 5 and Venu 3 is currently in a phased rollout and is available to 50% of users. The update should be automatically downloaded to your device, but if you want to check for it manually, you can navigate to the following path on your watch: Menu > Settings > System > Software Update
