Garmin Venu X1 Receives Stable Software Update 12.70: New Features & Bug Fixes

Garmin is beginning the rollout of its latest stable software update, version 12.70, for the Venu X1 smartwatch. This update introduces a number of new features and improvements designed to enhance the overall user experience and expand the device’s fitness tracking capabilities.

What’s New in This Update?

The changelog for version 12.70 includes a variety of new features, many of which focus on deeper insights into training and daily activity. One notable addition is the evening report, which provides a summary of your day just before your scheduled sleep time. For runners, the update now shows the energy cost of aerobic running in the Running Economy glance and adds a new running tolerance estimate for the week. The software also now supports step speed loss data when paired with an HRM accessory.

This update also brings more advanced features for multisport athletes. The Venu X1 now supports adaptive training plans specifically for triathlons and allows for workouts that include multiple activity types, such as a triathlon. It also adds track run daily suggested workouts and the ability to automatically mark laps at GPS-based timing gates. Beyond training, users can now create custom focus modes to tailor the device to their needs. As with any new software release, this version also includes various bug fixes to improve overall stability.

How to Get the Update

The software version 12.70 is being released in a staged rollout, currently at 50% availability. Your device should automatically sync the update through the Garmin Connect Mobile app or Garmin Express. If you have not yet received the update, you can manually download it by following the path in your device’s settings.
