Garmin Venu X1 Receives Feature-Packed Beta Update (Version 15.10)

Garmin is officially rolling out the beta software update version 15.10 for its Venu X1 smartwatches. This new release brings a significant blend of new features and crucial stability fixes, aiming to enhance the overall user experience, particularly concerning health tracking and core functionality.

Enhanced Health Monitoring and New Watch Faces

The Venu X1 is doubling down on its commitment to holistic wellness with a brand-new feature focused on user health awareness. The update adds a glance that tracks health data changes and overall well-being. This dedicated snapshot allows users to quickly view trends and shifts in their key physiological metrics, offering a better understanding of their daily health status at a glance.

Furthermore, users will gain new customization options with the addition of three new watch faces, offering fresh aesthetics and layouts for personalizing the device’s main display.

Critical System Stability and Communication Fixes

Version 15.10 addresses several persistent bugs that affected the Venu X1’s reliability, particularly around communication and smart features. A major fix targets an annoying issue that could cause the speaker to be muted or for the device to reboot after attempting to answer a phone call while playing music through the speakers. This correction should ensure a smoother transition during hands-free calls.

In related improvements, the update also reduces the click sound at the beginning of a voice note and fixes an issue that could cause a voice note to be replayed at half speed, leading to clearer and more reliable voice communication.

Squashing Notification and Reporting Bugs

Several software glitches that impacted the daily reporting and notification experience have been resolved. Users who experienced inaccurate alerts will be pleased to know the update fixes an issue that could cause the notification number on the watch face to be incorrect.

The timing of daily summaries is also improved. The software fixes an issue that could result in the evening report not displaying at the proper time. On the stability front, a key fix addresses a problem that could cause the device to reboot when receiving multiple smart notifications in a row, eliminating a frustrating cause of interruption.

Quality-of-Life Improvements and General Polish

Beyond the major fixes, the update introduces a welcome quality-of-life change: the device can now be powered down without entering a passcode. This minor adjustment streamlines the process of simply turning the watch off.

Finally, the release notes conclude with a blanket statement for various bug fixes and improvements, suggesting a general sweep of polish and optimization across the system for a smoother, more responsive user interface.
