Garmin Rolls Out Beta Software Update 18.29 for Venu X1 and Vivoactive 6: What’s New?

Garmin is pushing out a brand-new beta software update, version 18.29, for the Venu X1 and Vivoactive 6 smartwatches. While this is a relatively light maintenance patch, it brings some helpful bug fixes to keep both popular models running smoothly without unexpected glitches.

What Is Included in Update 18.29?

Both watches get a fix for a frustrating alarm bug where turning on the “quiet start” setting would fail to save or take effect properly. Alongside this patch, Garmin included a bundle of general performance tweaks and minor background bug fixes across both devices.

Venu X1 owners get one extra fix in this build. Garmin resolved an issue where voice alerts would keep playing sound even when the watch was explicitly switched to silent mode, ensuring your device stays completely quiet when you need it to.

How to Install the Beta Software Today

If you are enrolled in Garmin’s public beta testing program and want the new fixes right away, you can download the patch manually from your watch.

Simply open your watch’s Main Menu, navigate to Settings, tap System, select Software Update, and press Check for Updates to download and install version 18.29.
