Garmin has just released a brand-new software update, version 29.02, for the Fenix 6 and Marq smartwatches. If you own one of these watches, this might come as a pleasant surprise. It has been more than a year since Garmin pushed out the previous version, 28.02, making many users think the older watch models had finished receiving software support.
What is New in Version 29.02?
- Fixed an issue that would cause the Race Predictor to generate incorrect values.
Instead of adding a long list of new features, Garmin focused entirely on fixing a specific problem. The main change log notes that this update fixes an issue with the Race Predictor.
Previously, some users noticed that the Race Predictor tool was giving incorrect finish time values. This bug caused confusion for runners and athletes relying on their watches to plan training goals. With update 29.02, Garmin has squashed this bug to ensure your running predictions are accurate again.
How to Install the Update on Your Watch
Because this update is rolling out gradually, your watch might not download it automatically right away. If you want to grab it immediately, you can check for it manually in just a few steps:
-
Grab your watch and press the Menu button.
-
Scroll down and select Settings.
-
Open the System menu.
-
Tap on Software Update.
-
Choose Check for Updates to download and install version 29.02.
