Garmin Prime Day 2026: Why Most Deals Disappointed (And What’s Worth Buying)

Prime Day is usually the best time of the year to grab tech gear on sale, but shopping for a Garmin smartwatch on Amazon can sometimes feel like a puzzle. Because Garmin rarely cuts prices across its whole lineup, finding a real bargain takes a little digging. Instead of widespread discounts everywhere, I looked closely at Amazon to find the few watches that actually received a price cut during the event.

Garmin Fenix 8 Sees Major Price Drops

The one bright spot on Amazon is the older flagship tier, now that newer models have rolled out. The popular Garmin fēnix® 8, 47mm AMOLED, is now down to $729.99, a significant drop from its original price.

It features a gorgeous, high-resolution AMOLED display that makes maps and workout stats pop in any lighting. It comes packed with advanced strength training plans, a built-in LED flashlight for night workouts, and a rugged titanium bezel built to handle extreme outdoor abuse.

Epix Pro Delivers Deep Discounts

If you want an even bigger markdown on a top-tier adventure watch, the Garmin Epix Pro (Gen 2) Sapphire Edition is seeing an aggressive drop on Amazon down to $529.99 (47% OFF).

This watch packs a brilliant 1.3-inch/1.4 inch AMOLED screen under a scratch-resistant sapphire lens, multi-band GPS, onboard topo maps, and advanced fitness metrics like hill score and endurance score. It is easily one of the best value high-end pickups of the sale.

Smaller Price Cuts on Mid-Range Favorites

Beyond the headline flagship discounts, Amazon’s price cuts on other models were quite conservative.

The budget-friendly Garmin Forerunner 165 dropped to $200 from its usual $250. It remains a top choice for runners who want a bright touchscreen, accurate GPS, and daily recovery metrics without spending a fortune.

Meanwhile, the rugged Garmin Instinct 3 saw a modest cut down to $350 from its standard $450 retail tag. It trades away fancy color screens for an ultra-tough build and weeks of solar battery life.

Finally, the everyday lifestyle tracker Garmin Vivoactive 5 is sitting around $200, down from $300, offering a lightweight frame, sleep coaching, and an 11-day battery.

Conclusion: Expecting Much More From Prime Day

To be honest, I was expecting more from this Prime Day. Most Garmin devices didn’t drop much, and only a few watches actually got discounted. To make matters worse, most of these price drops were already active even before Prime Day started, meaning the official event didn’t bring any special new savings to the table. I was really hoping to see some discounts on heavy hitters like the Forerunner 970, Venu 4, or even the Forerunner 965, but unfortunately, there are no discounts to be found on any of them, and the newest releases like the Fenix 9 didn’t drop in price at all.

That being said, if you are looking to upgrade your wrist game, the Garmin Fenix 8 and Epix Pro are still genuinely good offers, especially the Epix Pro, considering its price cut has slashed it almost in half.
