Garmin rolls out fresh beta update 23.15 for Fenix 8, Quatix 8, and Enduro 3: What’s new?

Garmin is rolling out Beta Version 23.15 for several of its top smartwatches. The new software build is available for the Fenix 8, Fenix E, Quatix 8, and Enduro 3. This release focuses on fixing annoying bugs, improving hardware shortcuts, and making the overall system run smoother.

Key Changes and Shortcut Improvements

The update brings a few practical tweaks to how you interact with your watch controls. First, Garmin updated the flashlight shortcut. Pressing it now lets you quickly cycle through turning the light on, turning it off, and switching to strobe mode.

Garmin also fixed how phone shortcuts work on watches that do not have a dedicated phone app. Instead of failing or doing nothing, pressing the shortcut now takes you straight to the phone connection page so you can pair your device.

Audio Fixes and Stability Patch

The 23.15 update addresses two major music bugs that interfered with workouts:

  • Preventing random reboots: Fixed a glitch that could cause the watch to suddenly reset while playing music.

  • Stopping loud volume spikes: Fixed an issue where music volume would automatically jump to 100% whenever a timer went off during an activity.

On top of those fixes, the update includes patches for other minor system issues and updates language translations across the interface.

How to Get the Update

If you are part of Garmin’s beta testing program, you do not have to wait for an automatic rollout. You can download the software manually directly from your watch.

Go to the Main Menu, tap Settings, scroll to System, select Software Update, and tap Check For Updates.
