Garmin Drops New Beta Update 22.37 for Tactix 8: Fixes Battery Drain Issue

Garmin has started rolling out a fresh software update for its Tactix 8 smartwatches. The new beta version, labeled 22.37, focuses on fixing a few nagging bugs to make the premium watch run a lot smoother.

If you are part of Garmin’s beta program, you can expect the update to hit your wrist soon.

Crucial Fixes for Golfers and Divers

This update targets three specific issues that were bothering users. First, Garmin fixed a glitch that caused the watch to crash or freeze in the middle of a golf game.

Deep-sea divers also get an important fix. Previously, a bug caused the dive depth meter to glitch out and instantly jump back to zero right after reaching maximum depth. The new software ensures the tracker stays accurate. Finally, the update tackles an unspecified battery drain issue, helping the watch last longer on a single charge.

How to Get the Update Right Now

While the update will eventually download automatically, you do not have to wait around for it. You can force your watch to look for the new software immediately.

How to update manually:

Open the Main Menu on your watch, go to Settings, select System, tap on Software Update, and then choose Check For Updates.
