Football fans can now check the World Cup action without pulling out their phones. A new independent app turns Garmin smartwatches into a live scoreboard, bringing game updates straight to the wrist.
The free custom watch face is called WC2026 Live Pro. It was created by an independent developer known as GR_apps, and it is not officially connected to FIFA. The app came out right before the tournament started and has already received quick updates to fix minor time-zone bugs.
How the Screen Looks

The watch face divides your screen into two main sections to keep things clean and easy to read.
-
The Top Half (Football): This area is all about the tournament. It shows the day’s games, kickoff times in your local time zone, and tiny flags for the 48 countries playing. During live matches, a progress bar appears alongside the current score and game time. You can also pick a favorite team in the settings. When you do, a gold star marks their games, making sure you always know when they play next.
-
The Bottom Half (Daily Stats): This part keeps your watch working like a normal smartwatch. It displays the time, date, and current weather. It also gives you two spots for fitness tracking data. You can set these up to show your steps, heart rate, remaining battery life, or calories burned.
Screen Support and Battery Life

The app works well on different kinds of Garmin screens. For sharp AMOLED displays, you can choose between light and dark backgrounds. For older memory-in-pixel (MIP) screens, the text color changes automatically so it stays readable in direct sunlight.
Because the watch face runs in the background and continuously checks the internet for score updates, it will likely use up your battery faster on days with a lot of games. It also requests basic permissions to read your heart rate and local temperature sensors.
Where to Download
You can download WC2026 Live Pro for free through the official Garmin Connect IQ store. It works on almost any Garmin watch that supports custom apps, including Fenix 8 and Venu 4.
