Garmin Drops New Beta Update 29.52 for Forerunner 965, 955, 265, 255, and 165 Watches

Garmin has officially begun rolling out a new beta software update, version 29.52, for several models in its popular Forerunner family.

The update is currently available to users enrolled in the beta testing program who own the Forerunner 965, Forerunner 955, Forerunner 265, Forerunner 255, or Forerunner 165.

Smoother Performance for Widget Glances

A major focus of update 29.52 is making the watch’s everyday user interface run more fluidly.

Garmin has improved performance across all widget glances. Owners should notice faster load times, smoother scrolling, and an overall more responsive display when checking stats like sleep, heart rate, or daily activity.

Battery Saver Mode Estimates Corrected

This build also resolves a display glitch inside the power management settings.

The update fixes an issue where the battery saver menu displayed inaccurate remaining battery life estimates while using the Always-On Display mode. Watch owners can now rely on more accurate runtime calculations when configuring power options.

System Stability and General Bug Fixes

Alongside targeted UI fixes, version 29.52 includes a bundle of general system improvements and background bug fixes.

These background tweaks help prevent unexpected crashes and enhance overall device stability for daily health tracking and workouts.

How to Download Version 29.52

If your device is registered in Garmin’s public beta program, you can pull the update directly over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

To download it manually from your smartwatch, open the Main Menu, go to Settings, tap System, select Software Update, and press Check For Updates.
