Garmin Launches New Beta Software Update 14.09 for Instinct 3 Series

Garmin has officially begun the rollout of its latest beta firmware, version 14.09, targeting several of its rugged wearable lines. This update is specifically designed for the Instinct 3 AMOLED, Instinct 3 Solar, Instinct E, and the Crossover AMOLED smartwatches. As is standard with beta releases, this version focuses on refining the user experience by squashing specific bugs that were present in previous builds.

Targeted Fixes for Instinct 3 AMOLED

For users wearing the Instinct 3 AMOLED, this update addresses a visual glitch within the fitness tracking suite. Specifically, Garmin has resolved an issue where the Arm Circles workout animation was missing from the device. This fix ensures that athletes can once again follow the proper form directly from their wrist during guided exercise sessions.

UI Improvements for Solar and Instinct E Models

The Instinct 3 Solar and Instinct E variants receive a dedicated fix aimed at data visibility. Users had previously reported a layout bug where stock price values were being cut off or not fully displayed on the watch face. Version 14.09 corrects this scaling issue, allowing traders and enthusiasts to view their financial data clearly without truncated digits.

How to Install the Update

If you are enrolled in Garmin’s Beta Program, you can pull the update manually rather than waiting for the automatic OTA (over-the-air) delivery. To initiate the download, navigate through the following steps on your wearable:

  • Open the Menu

  • Select System

  • Tap on Software Update

  • Select Check For Updates

Once the device detects the 14.09 build, it will prompt you to begin the installation process. Ensure your watch has sufficient battery life before starting the update.
