The 5 Garmin Launches I’m Saving My Money For in H2 2026

As we cross the midpoint of 2026, the wearable tech world is buzzing with more than just the usual iterative updates. While the first half of the year gave us some solid stable software releases and the surprise D2 Mach 2 Pro, the “big fish” are still circling. For those of us deeply embedded in the Garmin ecosystem, the next six months represent a potential shift in how the brand balances screenless recovery tech, high-end cycling, and entry-level running.

Here are the five Garmin devices I’m most excited to see—and hopefully test—before 2026 comes to a close.

1. Garmin Fenix 9 (and Fenix 9 Pro)

The Fenix series remains the undisputed heavyweight champion of the multisport world. Based on the accelerated release cycles and recent CEO hints, the Fenix 9 is the most anticipated launch for the fall.

Expected Features:

The big story is the Elevate Gen 6 sensor, which is rumored to support non-invasive blood pressure trend tracking. We’re also looking for Tri-band GNSS for 50cm-level accuracy in “urban canyons” and a possible “Solar-AMOLED” hybrid display that finally merges high-end visuals with indefinite battery life.

Release Prediction:

August – October 2026. Garmin typically favors the late summer window for its flagship outdoor refreshes.

2. Garmin CIRQA

This is perhaps the most “un-Garmin” device on the list, and that’s exactly why I’m waiting for it. After being spotted on regional websites and in FCC filings, the Garmin CIRQA is a screenless smart band focused entirely on recovery.

Expected Features:

It’s designed as a subscription-free “Whoop killer.” Expect it to feature the latest heart rate array, skin temperature sensors, and a deep focus on Body Battery and Sleep Coaching. It’s the perfect companion for those who want Garmin’s data but prefer to wear a traditional mechanical watch on their other wrist.

Release Prediction:

Late Q2 or early Q3 2026. While some rumors suggest a spring drop, a broader H2 rollout seems likely for global availability.

3. Garmin Edge 1060

It has been a while since the Edge 1050 shook things up with its built-in speaker and vibrant display. By late 2026, we will be perfectly positioned for the Edge 1060.

Expected Features:

The 1050 was “loud,” but the 1060 will likely be “bright.” I’m expecting a 4500-nit MicroLED display that solves the “sunlight vs. AMOLED” debate once and for all. Look for Sat-Link 360 two-way satellite messaging to be integrated directly into the unit for off-grid safety without needing an InReach.

Release Prediction:

June – August 2026. Garmin often updates its cycling computers just in time for the peak summer riding season.

4. Garmin Forerunner 170

The Forerunner 165 was a massive hit for entry-level runners, and its successor is due. The Forerunner 170 will be the gateway drug for the running community in late 2026.

Expected Features:

I’m betting on Training Readiness finally trickling down to the “1” series. We also expect a transition to a more efficient AMOLED panel and the inclusion of Dual-Band GPS as a standard feature across all entry-level models to ensure track workouts are mapped with pinpoint precision.

Release Prediction:

September – November 2026. This aligns perfectly with the fall marathon season and the holiday shopping rush.

5. Garmin Vivosmart 6

With the fitness tracker market shifting, the Vivosmart 6 is Garmin’s answer to those who want a slim, traditional band without the bulk of a full smartwatch.

Expected Features:

The headline feature leaked on Garmin’s own Indonesian website: Built-in GPS. This is a massive upgrade over the Vivosmart 5, which required a phone connection for tracking. Expect over 30 sports apps and specialized support for wheelchair user activities, all in a slim, stylish form factor.

Release Prediction:

Early H2 2026. While it was teased earlier in the year, global retail availability is expected to peak in the second half of 2026.

Final Thoughts

The second half of 2026 feels like a turning point for Garmin. Between the experimental nature of the CIRQA and the refined power of the Edge 1060, the brand is clearly trying to cover every inch of the “active lifestyle” map. It’s going to be a busy (and expensive) few months for gear junkies, but the innovation looks well worth the wait.
