Garmin has just started rolling out a new software update for its premium smartwatches. The fresh beta version, 22.37, is now available for the Fenix 8, Fenix E, Fenix 8 Pro, Enduro 3, and Quatix 8 models.
This update doesn’t bring any flashy new features, but it focuses heavily on fixing annoying bugs and making the watches more reliable for outdoor sports.
What’s Fixed in This Update?
The new software tackles several specific glitches that users have been reporting. Here is the breakdown of what has been corrected:
-
No More Golf Crashes: Garmin fixed a frustrating issue that caused the watches to crash or freeze in the middle of a round of golf.
-
Dive Depth Correction: Scuba divers were dealing with a bug where the depth tracker would suddenly jump to zero right after reaching the maximum depth. This has now been sorted out.
-
LTE Fix for Fenix 8 Pro: On the Fenix 8 Pro, a glitch was causing LTE LiveTrack to stop working if the user made an LTE phone call during a workout. That connection should now stay active.
-
Battery Drain Patch for Tactix 8: Tactix 8 owners who noticed their battery dying faster than usual should see a fix, as a power-drain issue has been resolved.
How to Get the Update Right Now
If you are part of Garmin’s beta program, you don’t have to wait for the automatic download. You can force your watch to grab the new software immediately.
To do this manually on your watch, navigate through the buttons using this path: Main Menu > Settings > System > Software Update > Check For Updates.
