Garmin releases new stable update 22.38 for Fenix 8/8 Pro, Enduro 3, and Tactix 8

Garmin is pushing out a fresh software update for its newest lineup of smartwatches. Owners of the Fenix 8, Fenix 8 Pro, Fenix E, Tactix 8, and Enduro 3 will soon see version 22.38 hitting their devices. This stable release focuses on fixing a few annoying bugs rather than introducing flashy new features.

What is New in Version 22.38?

The latest software tackles specific glitches that some users ran into during outdoor activities and daily use. Here is the breakdown of what this update fixes:

  • Golf Crashes: Some users experienced sudden system crashes while tracking a round of golf. This update plugs that bug.

  • Dive Depth Glitch: Scuba divers noticed a strange issue where the watch would automatically reset their depth to zero right after they reached their deepest point. That has been corrected.

  • LTE LiveTrack Failures: For Fenix 8 Pro users, taking an LTE phone call mid-workout was breaking the LiveTrack feature. LiveTrack should now stay active even after a call.

  • Battery Drain: Tactix 8 owners who were seeing their battery life suddenly plummet should notice much better performance now.

How to Get the Update Right Now

While Garmin usually rolls these updates out in phases, you do not have to wait for it to hit your wrist automatically. You can force your watch to find the new software manually by following a few simple steps.

Just open the Main Menu on your watch, navigate to Settings, select System, tap on Software Update, and then hit Check For Updates.
